Working for one of the UK's leading contractors operating both in the UK and Worldwide, they operate across a number of sectors including building, infrastructure, housing and maintenance.


Your new role
As an Estimator you will be managing and undertaking activities and tasks in estimating / business development that may be deemed necessary to meet the ongoing or changing needs of the business.

• Compile top-down budgets and estimates from first principles in-line with company guidelines and procedures

• First principles build-ups should clearly, concisely & confidently illustrate all assumptions / calculations regarding; outputs, labour, plant, materials, management, site set up and subcontract elements.

• Organise, manage and contribute to 'Risk & Opportunity' schedules, meetings and work-shops.

• Engage and obtain specialist sub-contractor / material quotes - analyses / compare and summarise

• Contribute to the construction of outline tender programmes .

• Endeavour to develop relationships with client - maximise opportunities and profit, where possible

• Undertake site meetings / surveys, on occasion - with operations or, on own.

• Attend and effectively contribute to pre-tender / negotiation meetings.

• Organise and lead tender handover meetings.

What you'll need to succeed

• Civil engineer degree or QS degree preferable not essential

• Essential - NEC3 terms and conditions, CESMM and NRSWA / HAUC highway specification
