Section Engineer - Civils - Negotiable Salary

Your new company
One of the UK's leading infrastructure contractors working on schemes both in the UK and overseas operating across a number of sectors including Rail, Water, Transport, and Energy.


Your new role

  • Carrying out complex setting out
  • Provision of 'primary' setting out control and recognises the optimum location for installation
  • Coaching subordinates in the use of setting out techniques
  • Produce Activity Control Plans
  • Actively uses the specification as a reference document
  • Maintaining a comprehensive filing system of quality records
  • Identifying, raising and action Non Conformance Reports
  • Identifying and raising Technical Queries with possible solutions
  • Producing Method Statements and Risk Assessments
  • Preparing and raising Temporary Works Briefs
  • Carry out 'short term', Visitors Induction
  • Completing Accident Book and associated reports as required
  • Producing a weekly programme and measures progress against KPI's
  • Communicating weekly programme and targets to the workforce
  • Collating Weekly Measure information and monitors wastage against budget allowances / KPI's
  • Carrying out a labour and plant reconciliation
  • Identifying items of additional work and raises the necessary notifications
  • Working to specific terms, conditions and outputs of relevant subcontractors and suppliers




What you'll need to succeed

  • Able to carry out complex setting out
  • Understands and has experience of producing ACP;
  • Understanding of construction tolerances;
  • Awareness of Specification and other Contract documents
  • Understands Permit System and actively raises permits to Work
  • Is able to identify potential hazards and is proactive in implementing actions and controls
  • Understands and can use the information provided in the 13 week Stage Programme
  • Good understanding of key contract documentation;
  • Understands specific terms, conditions and outputs of relevant subcontractors and suppliers.
