Our client is a thriving SME property consultancy employing 65 staff across three UK offices, they’re seeking the help of a competent Senior Chartered building surveyor, preferably MRICS, to support the London office Director, full time, as a designate Associate, in delivering projects and assisting in the management of a 12 man surveying team.
It’s also worth highlighting that the practice are keen for this individual to show an underlying talent for stepping up and into their partnership structure in due course.
In initial stages, you’ll be involved in managerial duties and also ‘hands on’ project & professional work within the education sector (schools) – potentially more weighting to the project side. This sector has become a prominent service stream albeit not by design. Via long nurtured relationships, they’ve generated significant repeat instructions across various educational institutions.
Projects can vary from smaller refurbishments to £4m cutting edge extensions - projects are typically London based. They’re a genuine mix of new build, refurb and planned /reactive maintenance programmes for a variety of large property portfolios. Our client provides a full suite of advisory services including building surveys, schedules of condition, specification writing, full contract administration (including dilapidation / party wall) and project management services.
However, our client is wishing to expand its client reach and there’s an expectation for the successful candidate to help facilitate that via active networking and a rekindling of prior client relationships. Those wishing to apply should already have a demonstrable track record of both client management and project leads generation.
- Chartered Building Surveyor RICS or commensurate level of experience (UK based)
- Leadership experience (in a property consultancy setting) & willingness to mentor APC Graduates
- Strong organisational & communication skills
- Some relevant project experience but with extensive building consultancy knowledge
- Good working knowledge of all relevant legislation – CDM, Asbestos regs
- Excellent team orientated interpersonal skills
- Strong Negotiating and Presentational skills
- Competence in Microsoft office suite
