Development Surveyor

Your new company
Hays are delighted to be working with the leading Land Promoters in the Eastern Region to recruit a Development surveyor into their very successful and fast-growing Development team. They are looking for a surveyor to focus on assisting with the development and construction of a number of commercial development projects, primarily in the industrial sector. This locally owned Investment company manages assets in strategic land, commercial property, the renewable energy sector, and other real estate related opportunities.

Your new role
As the new Development surveyor, you will be joining a flat and open team structure where you'll be responsible for assisting with and executing development and construction projects within the commercial sector. These projects will typically be new build developments or active asset management through refurbishments. Developments will include Warehouses, Business Parks and Logistic Parks but there will also be opportunity across other sectors.

Day to day you will help deliver the company's ambitious 3-year plan, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of the developments which will include liaising with all parties involved (Project managers, designers, engineers, cost consultants and solicitors). You will manage the tender and appointment process for contractors. In addition, you will act as the client in the development process, including managing opportunities and challenges as they arise as well as maintaining accurate cash flow modes.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful you will ideally have 4 years' experience post qualification (MRICS or MCIOB), or hold relevant construction experience. You will be able to manage development projects successfully and understand construction contracts. You will be commercially minded with an eye for detail and with the ability to implement strong management plans for each phase. You will also be client facing, and personable.
