Working for one of the UK's leading contractors operating both in the UK and Worldwide, they operate across a number of sectors including building, infrastructure, housing and maintenance.


Your new role
The Works Controller/Scheduler purpose is to review and accept reactive works orders; plan how the work will be delivered safely and efficiently; create daily work schedules which are permitted in compliance with traffic management act; review completed work schedules.
As a Works Controller/Scheduler these are some of the things you'll be expected to do:

• Assess and suggest appropriate traffic management to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of the workforce and the general public;
• Review and accept reactive orders, ensuring consistency with the Highway Maintenance Operation Plan matrices
• Co-ordinate and manage the effective deployment of staff to emergencies
• Provide support to Infrastructure Operations managers, supervisors and operatives
• Work closely with the operations supervisors/gangers
• Review productivity of Infrastructure Operations

What you'll need to succeed

• Programme or project management qualification or equivalent practical experience of managing multi-functional projects
• Relevant Construction Skills / Street Works Supervisor certificate
• Programme or project management qualification or equivalent practical experience of managing multi-functional projects
• Good working knowledge and appropriate application of the Safety at Street works and Roadwork
• Supervisory or management experience
• Demonstrable experience in leadership, resource allocation and general management
