Site Agent/Site Manager - Full Time - Perm - Cambridgeshire

Your new role

  • Manage and supervise schemes/scheme sections on-site valued between £1.5m to £15m and ensure that work is carried out safely, on time and to budget
  • Be responsible for day to day management of the site
  • Develop construction programmes and methodology utilising existing knowledge & experience and through engagement with Key Supply Chain.
  • Monitor and control site activities ensuring quality of work
  • Efficient organisation of labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor resources
  • Liaise with all stakeholders as required to deliver schemes
  • Ensure Construction Phase Plans, method statements and safe systems of work are in-place before work is started and that required safety standards are maintained at all times
  • Manage all risks effectively on site and ensure adherence to risk management processes
  • Ensure in-house and subcontract personnel are competent and fully trained to undertake their work
  • Liaise with commercial team and designers to manage changes identified on site. Monitor and control forecast costs
  • Fully engage with the commercial team and take responsibility for the commercial performance of the project
  • Keep accurate records including site diary, records of works activities, resource allocations and as-built information
  • Assist in preparation of health and safety files and post completion reports
  • Assist internal design resource with Early Contractor Involvement and buildability considerations including CDM, Traffic Management incorporating TTRO applications and road space bookings
  • Participate in Value Management process and Value Engineering reviews as required


What you'll need to succeed

  • IOSH/ SMSTS preferable
  • CSCS
  • Driving licence
  • Experience of supervising Highway improvement, public realm work or civil engineering projects
  • Practical understanding of NEC Contracts
  • Detailed understanding of health and safety management and the requirements of CDM
  • Experienced user of a proprietary planning package eg. ASTA, Microsoft project ,Primavera
  • Detailed knowledge of quality and environmental standards
  • Extensive experience of managing and supervising staff, workforce and subcontractors
  • Commercially aware with knowledge of budget and cost control processes
