This company has a rich and diverse history that dates back over 100 years since they established their first surveying office in Kent.

Today the company operates from a range of offices offering clients advice on a diverse range of property matters from surveying, design and planning, residential and commercial sales and lettings, town planning and architectural services, as well as auctioneering. Employing more than 30 staff, the company's emphasis is to deliver independent professional advice and skilled negotiation to all clients, both individuals and organisations.

Over the course of the last year, despite all that has happened, they have found themselves in a position where they have delivered the best profitability results since the company's inception. This is from a combination of a busier residential market, reduced business costs and staff performance. They've adapted to the new working world of working from home and the office and have no plans to change this moving forward.

As a result, they are looking to add their numbers and take advantage of a busy market, by taking on a Senior Valuations Surveyor to grow and develop with commercial offering, with a view that his person will eventually head up the team moving in to a Partner role.

Your new role
In this role you will be responsible for the valuation of commercial properties and your duties will extend to support business generation and fee income. You will be responsible for client care and be expected to attend events to promote the department/firm amongst clients and professional organisations. You will be preparing reports and responding quickly to client enquiries, whilst at all times upholding the professional image of the business You will be working to support various professional standards which will include acquiring and building a sound knowledge of property markets and legal case law. You will consistently be required to track property press and the national press with a view to building up a wide perspective of the property market and related activities. You will be adhering to deadlines and make good use of office records and procedures.

The role will require you to respect confidentiality of sensitive information and to abide by the principle of continuing professional development as required by the RICS. Within the role you will be liaising with members of other departments and gaining an understanding of individuals and their markets both for the purpose of obtaining information in support of valuations, whilst looking for opportunities for cross selling the business.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be MRICS qualified. Your career experience should extend to broad UK property knowledge and/or fund/portfolio valuations experience as well as being registered under the RICS Valuer Registration Scheme. The ideal candidate will have the capacity for accuracy, attention to detail and an orderly approach to work and numeracy. You will have the ability to confidently communicate facts clearly in person and in writing - producing reports. You will need to be highly computer literate and competent using Microsoft Word, Excel, and associated packages.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary of £42,500 base + Profit share on department (circa 50%), once Partner level attained will also include company profit share. OTE circa £80k, with 25 days holiday + bank holidays. You will work in a friendly environment with potential to grow within the company, which is not restricted by tenure, promotion is given on merit.
