GROUNDS MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE NORWICH IMMEDIATE START - LONG TERM WORK


HAYS Recruitment are recruiting for Grounds Maintenance Operatives to work with their Client on their local authority contracts based in Norwich.

Your new role
Ideally you will have similar experience, but full training will be given.
Your main duties will be strimming, cut lawns, litter picking, hedge trimming and maintaining public spaces in housing developments. You must have a driving licence and be able to drive a tractor with cutting deck.

The duration of the role will be ongoing for at least 3 months, potentially longer.
The role will be working 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, average week will be 42hrs per week.

What you'll get in return
Pay rates will depend on experience, from £10 per hour, weekly paid.
The role is expected to start ASAP and last until mid-September.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all grassed areas, hedges, and shrub beds to the recognised standard using powered hand tools and ride‐on mowers.
  • Liaise with the Senior Grounds Maintenance Operative to ensure work schedules are up to date and adjusted accordingly.
  • Responsible for all equipment provided by the Client including vehicle, tools and materials, ensuring they are used, maintained, and stored correctly.

that we are looking for to ensure you are the right person for the role.

  • Relevant experience and knowledge in all types of grounds maintenance work.
  • Relevant experience of working with powered hand tools (Brush cutters, hedgecutters, blowers) and ride‐on mowers
  • Holds a Front Loader qualification and NPTC Units NPTC PA1 + PA6, would advantageous. (desirable, not essential)
  • Excellent time management skills, including an ability to prioritise workload and meet agreed deadlines..
  • Full, current, valid driving licence with B + E Trailer entitlement or equivalent ideally
