Site Manager

Your new company
Our client is looking for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee the general street works project in Birmingham. The site is due to start towards the end of January and will involve long term work.

Your new role
The role will be in relation to managing tier 1 street works including re-surfacing and curbing (carriageway/ footways). You will be responsible for managing direct and subcontractor labour to complete inductions, traffic manage for closures, site diaries, surveys of existing works, overall highway maintenance / reporting to Highway England. Other duties will include: ensuring all health and safety and legislation requirements are met. You will need to be organised, and proactive to resolve any issues that may arise on site and ensure that the works completed are to the correct standard and in keeping with the programme. The role will predominantly working nights from 7.30pm to 4.30am.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience of working cross similar Highways/Civil projects, demonstrating extensive Health and safety knowledge in relation to pedestrian / local authority is key on this project. You will need to be extremely organised, have good IT skills and the drive to support your team with a "right first time attitude". An NRSWA card and experience of working on public realms is essential. You will also require a full UK drivers licence and own vehicle.. SMSTS qualification required.
