Agricultural Liaison Officer - Civils - Negotiable Salary

Your new role
Reporting into Site Agents and Construction Managers they are looking for an Agricultural Liaison Officer to ensure successful delivery of the Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance, reporting to the .

You will be responsible for:
Liaising with third party stakeholders such as landowners, farmers, tenant farmers, IDBs, Environment agency. Inform landowners of project requirements and construction matters and feedback landowner information to the Project team.

Sharing your experience and educating the wider project team regards all operations relating to soil management and drainage, to ensure that sub-contractors handle and install these to the appropriate standards and specifications whilst adhering to SPA's health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.

Location will be Bury St Edmunds to Colchester.


Key responsibilities:

  • Liaise with third party stakeholders regarding land and land drainage matters. E.g. IDBs , Environment Agency, landowners, tenant farmers.
  • Carry out and organise with project team pre-entry record of condition of fields including identification of existing drainage issues
  • Carryout pre entry agreements with landowners in conjunction with Lands team
  • Follow up on requests from landowners for existing land drainage drawings to assist with new project drainage design.
  • Discuss accommodation works with landowners - e.g water troughs for stock, irrigation pipework, fencing etc
  • Assist the project team in discussions with IDB about flume pipe crossing points, including installation. maintenance and removal
  • Extensive experience in drainage design and installation and ability to advise project team and third-party drainage designers
  • Extensive experience in good soil management
  • During construction ALOs need to inform landowners about construction matters and project requirements.
  • Excellent at reading construction drawings and previous experience essential for this.
  • Assist the construction team in all matters regarding land access.
  • Assist the project team with boundary removal and reinstatement
  • Ensure land drainage sub-contractors workmanship conform to industry standards and specifications



What you'll need to succeed

  • Can demonstrate experience of being part of large-scale infrastructure programmes of work, with extensive experience dealing with soils and drainage in challenging terrain and conditions.
  • Excellent communicator who can build strong relationships with the project teams and external stakeholders (inc farmers and local residents).
  • Work collaboratively with the project team to help deliver the best solution.
  • Flexibility on travelling.
  • Has a can-do attitude and enthusiasm to innovate and get the job done!
