Senior Design Manager required to take leadership role within growing contractor in Edinburgh
Your new company
Our client are an award winning main contractor who specialise in high end and complex refurbishment projects across the UK. As their business grows in Scotland they are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified design manager to their leadership group.
Your new role
As Design Manager you will be sitting in the leadership group and play a key role in the shaping of this businesses success over the next 5 years. Your role here will be to be the design lead on their projects building strong and positive relationships with the key design stakeholders on these high end refurbishment projects. From working with the precon team to assist in tendering through effective value engineering to managing any design issues through the course of the projects you will be involved in all project stages.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be already working as a design manager for a reputable main contractor and have demonstrated experience of working on challenging commercial projects previously. Experience of working on hotels , high end residential or museums would be really attractive to our client as this is their core market sector. The successful candidate will have a strong interest of working on high profile projects which require an exceptional level of quality and finish. Our client are willing to consider candidates from a range of backgrounds but you must have a tertiary qualification in engineering or architecture. Of course exceptional communication skills and a positive solutions focused approach is essential.
