Your new role

Working within the Consultancy Services division, the role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic team delivering a wide range of projects in the fields of decommissioning, radioactive waste management and environmental restoration to clients primarily within the UK nuclear industry. With the emerging increase in considering sustainability in the nuclear decommissioning and waste management sector, the role will provide a lead for the teams consultancy and wider business with integrating such considerations into their delivery. Working with passion and integrity in a collaborative environment that welcomes constructive challenge, you will be involved in a diverse range of projects relating to waste management and decommissioning strategy; including sustainability assessments, options assessments (Best Available Techniques), and environmental assessments (environmental aspects, environmental risk assessment). The role will also include supporting the wider business to further integrate sustainability best practice into management procedures and delivery arrangements and providing input to tenders from a sustainability and social value perspective.


What you'll need to succeed

  • 3+ years knowledge and experience of sustainability practice, preferably within the UK nuclear, or similar high-hazard industry, with familiarity of waste management.
  • Experience of options assessment delivery, including Best Available Techniques (BAT).
  • Experience of environmental assessment, including PREA and environmental risk assessment.
    • Project management experience an advantage.
· Recognised professional qualifications (e.g. BSc/MSc/PhD) in a relevant science-based discipline such as (but not limited to) physics, chemistry, geology and environmental science.
