I am delighted to be working with this Leicestershire based Contractor who builds residential and commercial projects, predominantly for local authorities across the East Midlands.
Your new role
As a Quantity Surveyor your duties will include Establishing and implementing systems and structure, to the commercial function and project oversight & delivery.
Carrying out accurate build cost assessments; maintain budget control throughout development; and manage cost overruns within tolerance levels.
Accurate costing and preparation of budgets for each aspect of site development.
Analysing and reporting on costs and cash flow vs budget
Preparing tenders and procure sub-contractors, goods and materials
Evaluating and agreeing variations and instructions.
Using a payments system for the payment of sub-contractors and the supply of goods and materials in line with company policy and procedures.
Management of Sub-Contract accounts through to completion including valuations, payments, variations, forecast final accounts and contractual correspondence.
Submission of interim applications for payment on time.
Produce monthly cost reports on time, in conjunction with Project Manager - ensure that the true position is reported at all times.
Attend regular meetings with Key stakeholders client to ensure account agreement is progressed.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience as a Quantity Surveyor on residential construction projects with both a new build and Refurb components; ideally with public sector projects. You will have a degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying. You will have superb communication skills from working with Labourers through to Chief Executives, and your customer service skills will therefore be as outstanding as your construction knowledge.
Ideally you will be a stand alone Quantity Surveyor who is already used to running your own projects, however this client is open to candidates looking for a more senior level role or are already in a senior role.
