Professional Surveyor (L&T)

Macdonald & Company are working with a firm of national independent property advisors, who are looking for a Chartered Surveyor to join their Crawley based Professional Services Team, undertaking work including rent reviews, lease renewals and advise on Landlord & Tenant matters. You will support the existing professional team and work with all other divisions within the firm in growing this area of the business by establishing and developing client contacts, with the ultimate goal of driving value for the respective portfolios. The majority of the portfolio that you will be responsible for is across Surrey, Sussex and Kent.

Key Responsibilities:

- Undertake Rent Reviews and Lease Renewals across a mixed commercial portfolio
- Regularly update clients on the progress of their instructions
- As a fee earner, prepare invoices and liaise with clients and Accounts team to ensure bad debts are kept to a minimum
- Undertake Business Rates appeals and provide general rating advice to ratepayer clients
- Quote for work and ensure all fees and other costs are monitored and processed in a timely way so that income and profits are met
- Compliance and administration to maintain all the relevant professional and in-house procedures and standards

About You:

- MRICS Qualified
- Experience of undertaking Professional works, including rent reviews and lease renewals
- Knowledge of professional matters and potential new markets appropriate to their region/service line
- Demonstrate the ability to undertake rental valuations for lease advisory and business rates purposes
- Experience of mixed commercial assets/markets
- Build on Client and Tenant relationships to achieve positive outcomes in relation to proposals and plans
- Diligent, communicative and ability to manage time effectively
