Bid Writer, Bid co-ordinator, bid manager - permanent job (construction copywriter; Tender Co-ordinator etc)

Your new company
Working for a successful, and expanding Sussex Main Contractor, this position for a construction Bid Writer. The company are regional construction specialists working on projects predominately in the education, healthcare, residential and refurbishment sectors with historic building work also undertaken. They work much of the time with clients they have developed over many years and value a collaborative approach with professionals and sub-contractors alike. They are currently involved in several of Sussex most challenging and groundbreaking projects and are looking to welcome an experienced Bid Writer to join their team. They have offices in Sussex, Surrey, and Kent.

Your new role
Reporting to the Bid Manager and working alongside the Business Development team, you will be responsible for the bid process within a construction contracting environment with a focus on delivering consistency and driving continuous improvement. Key Duties - You will work on -

  • Framework submissions
  • Expressions of Interest
  • Pre-Qualification Questionnaires
  • Invitation to Tender documentation
  • Contribute to Bid strategy
  • Develop and write all non-technical and technical content, H&S, quality, CVs, experience
  • Understand and resolve complex technical, strategic and business issues - consulting with all bid team members. as required
  • Proofread all submission content - ensure compliant and aligned to Client requirements and bid strategy
  • Write the executive summary where required
  • Bids are typically £4m - £20m


What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a similar role for a construction company
  • Strong communication skills with an excellent command of written and spoken English
  • The ability to communicate about technical concepts in easy-to understand ways and convey ideas graphically
  • Good understanding of construction working practices
  • Excellent research skills that enable the gathering of information critical to developing a competitive offer
  • Be able to work to submission deadlines
  • Highly IT literate and good presentation skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with a focus on quality.
