As an employer that give raises in salary annually and regular promotion opportunities a new role for a planning officer has come up due to promotions within their company. They are looking for a keen new planning officer to nurture their career within this council.

Your new role
As a key member of the Planning team, you will be assisting with the delivery of an effective and efficient Planning service. You will be expected to deal with a range of applications for planning permission and other consents, as well as dealing with pre-application enquires and appeal. While experience of working within a political environment is not essential, the ability to develop strong relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders both internally and externally to make things happen certainly is. Site visits are required in a large rural area and so the suitable candidates will need to hold a current driving licence and/or the ability to travel around West Suffolk. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are vital.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have excellent administration, communication and IT skills, you will need to be organised, with an attention to detail as well as being an active team player. You will also need to have a panning degree, be a member of the RTPI or have experience within planning.
