Graduate Utilities Engineer based in Wolverhampton, 30k - 35k


Your new company
Your employer would be a large public sector organisation based in Wolverhampton. You would be working in the Asset & Estates Management Department as a Utilities Engineer. This role would be perfect for a graduate in an Energy Engineering Discipline, especially if they have internship/work experience in the sector.

Your new role
You will be responsible for managing the Energy, Water & Sustainability performance of the buildings on the estate and so will be reviewing the current operation then carrying out assessments to identify and resolve any problems and making sure any necessary changes are applied. You will be expected to reduce overall costs for electrical, mechanical energy and water supplies. You would be working closely with the Sustainability Manager to agree on how to reduce energy usage and Carbon Emissions as well as working with the Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to improve operating efficiency of plant rooms and buildings.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have a Degree in an Energy/ Environment Engineering or Sustainable Building Design Discipline (or equivalent qualification) as well at least a year experience and knowledge within the Energy Management field, this could be via internship or gap year work placement if you are a recent graduate. You will also need experience working with building management systems (BMS) and energy management systems. You will also need Membership of Institute of Energy or be a member of CIBSE

What you'll get in return
You will be paid a salary starting from £30k-£35K, with incremental pay increase throughout your career. You will benefit from 29 days annual leave and as well as a generous pension scheme, childcare (with onsite nursery) and maternity/paternity and adoption leave & pay.
