Your new company

This company is a global multi-disciplinary construction consultancy, who provide services to a breadth of clients across the Public and Private Sector. The business is looking to double in size over the next 3 years. They are looking for individuals to help contribute to this and share the success as they grow.

Their Cambridge team is looking to expand it's headcount in a number of departments. This includes their Quantity Surveyor team, where they have an opportunity for a APC level through to Associate Director to join.

Your new role
As the new Cost Manager you will be responsible for managing costs and budgets of construction projects, including new builds, renovations and maintenance works - from early cost advice to settlement of the final account. Your responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to, positively engaging with Customers and developing, growing and maintaining Customer relationships, delivering high quality services and ensuring that cost management deliverables meet Customers' requirements and managing projects and to deliver high quality services and deliverables in accordance with the business procedures. you will be preparing and presenting order of cost estimates and option studies, using cost-in-use studies and advising on and implementing procurement strategies. In addition to this, you will be expected to prepare tender documentation and manage the tender process, administrate contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent and identify new business development opportunities.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed you will need to be people focused and have great attention to detail. You will also need knowledge and experience of cost estimating and planning, as well as a knowledge of construction methods and materials. Ideally you will hold a MRICS qualification and have working knowledge of construction procurement strategies and post-contract cost management tasks.
