Head of Project Design

Permanent Head of Project Design, Main Contractor, Multi Sector works up to £40m, Competitive salary + package


Your new company
You will be working for an established main contractor that have continued to grow from strength to strength in the current environment. They have won work on multiple frameworks and are competitive tenders. Sectors of work include Education, Healthcare, Student Accommodation, Housing and MOD works. They are now seeking a Head of Project Design to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your new role
You will be working between the Design and Pre-Construction teams on large scale new build projects. You will be implementing and completing tracking registers for design decisions, producing notices of non compliance and derogation schedules. You will had excellent Bids / Contracts experience and have the ability to identify risk against feasible design. You will also have a good understanding of ground remediation and party wall agreements. The role will involve liaising with clients on multiple elements of the role and be able to demonstrate excellent problem solving skills. The initial projects will be working on new build projects ranging from £15M - £40M.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have a good technical understanding of drawings and experience of managing design resource. You will have a strong main contracting background managing projects of £20m plus in value. You must also have a strong background of main contractor design and build projects. Framework experience such as PFI is also beneficial. You will have a comprehensive history of working with Tier 1 Main Contractors leading teams of Project Design Managers.
