Building Surveyor

Your new company
This company has grown through acquisition over the last 100 years, but they still remain a family run business where family values are at the forefront of their culture. They cover everything from buying, selling, and letting residential and commercial property, to providing comprehensive property management services and consultancy advice for larger portfolios. In addition, the manage an extensive portfolio of properties. Their asset management extends to over £725m of owned property assets in the UK.

They have remained strong over the pandemic, and because of their established background in the property industry have maintained and built on their pipeline of work and are busier coming out of the pandemic then they were before it.

As a result, they are looking for a Building Surveyor to work within their Consultancy Services team, based in their South London location. This will be a role covering the South East London and Home Counties.

Your new role
The workload in a typical day would be variable from a full-blown professionally written condition report, to a site inspection of work in progress based on an in-house specification. Investigations on defects in mainly blocks of flats in the fully managed large portfolio, as well as health and safety across the board. You will also be administering section 20 procedures for properties within the residential portfolio.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role you will need to have a recognised qualification in Building Surveying and ideally be MRICS or working on your APC, strong customer service skills, good planning and organising skills, experience working for a property consultancy or surveying practice, and a valid driving licence.

What you'll get in return
The successful candidate will receive a salary of up to £45k, + benefits, use of a company car, 25 days holiday + bank holidays and a pension.
