About the role

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Built Environment team to contract manage the council’s own-build housing programme and to assist with delivering civil engineering, public realm, community, and other various capital and revenue based projects.

 

The post holder will be responsible for all aspects associated with the preparation, design, supervision, construction, financial control and certification of construction and civil engineering works undertaken within the individual projects allocated, including liaison with officers of other directorates, the Highway Authority, and other bodies as necessary.

With the proposed updates to building regulations and the council’s commitment to zero carbon, the post holder will need to be innovative and work with design teams to progress schemes to achieve these various standards. 

You will work within cross council working groups and have the ambition and motivation to deliver a quality service and build relationships quickly. 

As a member of MCIOB, MICE or RICS or similar, you will have programme, technical, and project management experience on a varied range of projects. 

Additional information

A full current UK driving licence is required.

Essential User Car Allowance (currently under review).

Able to travel between sites and to any role-related contacts that may include customers, clients, suppliers, external organisations and other Local Authorities.

A professional qualification such as MCIOB, MICE or RICS or similar. 

A minimum of one month’s notice required on either side. Two Months on Scale K.
