Job Details

Civil Engineer job in Northampton. Projects will include both Highways and Drainage work.

Your new role
You will be responsible for the design and day-to-day management of a number of varied projects. You will understand the Clients needs and focus on delivering clearly presented, high quality, practical solutions.

You will work on all types and scales of projects, from small extensions to housing estates, industrial buildings, schools, hospitals, care homes etc. Design work will include private and adoptable areas. You will also carry out assessments of existing issues at properties, to present recommendations and remedial work solutions. Main areas of work will include:

  • Feasibility, planning, detailed design, approval and construction stages.
  • Design of roads and hard standing.
  • Design of drainage, including land drainage and SuDS.
  • Assessment of flood risk, and design of mitigation.
  • Design of earthworks and retaining solutions.
  • Arranging and attending surveys & investigations.
  • Liaison with Clients, Contractors, Design Teams, Surveyors and Local Authorities.
  • Preparing drawings, reports, calculations and professional project
  • Correspondence/administration.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a skilled Civil Engineer with experience in both highways and drainage work. You are an experienced user of Autocad, Microdrainage, Civils 3D and/or PDS. You are qualified to a minimum of HNC in Civil Engineering and your experience covers a range of projects from flood risk assessments to roundabout design. You are familiar with Section S38, S278 and S104. You can demonstrate superb communication skills and you are happy liaising with people at all levels of business.
