Your new role
To work as a hybrid QS/Estimator participating in all of the commercial activities related to projects, both pre and during construction. This role is suitable for entry level applicants with relevant educational qualifications and foundational experience as well as those of intermediate level that have a modest amount of experience from a relevant background to interior fit-out.
In summary, you will provide financial responsibility for the commercial & QS department function, with regard to contracts undertaken by the company. To include effective management of the QS resources throughout projects to meet the objectives, in order to control costs and maximise profit.
This role will incorporate the estimating service by performing analytical tasks for the determination of costs, standards and revenue within shopfitting contracts. To include the calculation of costs with regard to all projects undertaken within the estimating/QS department, ensuring that the price charged covers all costs, whilst at all times being competitive.
What you'll need to succeed
A junior candidate will need a relevant qualification (I.E. degree in QS'ing) and ideally anything from a few months to a couple of years of experience in the construction industry as a whole. For an intermediate, a good amount of experience in interior construction works will be required; this can be from working as a QS or Estimator or both.
All candidates must have the desire to get stuck in immediately and embrace the opportunity to develop themselves and start to build/progress their commercial construction career. Attitude and drive are important factors to be assessed. The successful candidate must be ready to receive a degree of professional responsibility.
