Your new company

As a Clerk of Works you will be operating on the client side in regards to planned and reactive maintenance and also new build inspections on current housing stock. This role offers an immediate start, long term contract, fixed working hours and minimal travel around Dundee.

Your new role

In your new role as Clerk of Works you will be expected to survey properties to determine what work needs carried out along with confirming with the client that they wish the work to be carried out. You will to monitor on-site quality control for development projects and repair projects, ensuring that works are carried out in accordance with agreed objectives and standards.
Your new role will involve regular and timely inspection and monitoring of works and quality, recording quality and specification issues and discuss any appropriate rectification with the project lead officer.
You will provide regular reports to the technical and project team regarding project programme and also carry out any other duties as required. You will work largely independently to ensure that works taking place are to a high standard and meet the design specifications. Your role will involve managing the relationship and communications between the contractor and the end client.

What you'll need to succeed

You'll need to have a proven track record in working on planned or reactive maintenance projects or new build developments either in a supervisory or trade capacity. You must hold relevant industry qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS card or HNC/ HND Construction Management and ample experience in the construction sector. In addition to your core technical skills, you must have strong IT skills and be able to liaise with a range of stakeholders including contractors, tenants and the wider project delivery team. You must hold a full UK Driving license due to travel involved.

This role offers an excellent work-life balance with a fairly fixed 37 hour week, minimal travel around Dundee. This is an ideal opportunity to gain experience in a supervisory/ more technical role and would suit an experienced Maintenance Officer/ Clerk of Works, Site Manager or someone seeking a role off the tools.
