Your new company
This client is a well established Housing Association based in South Kent. They manage over 9000 homes across the Kent and South East region and are targeting building around 1000 new homes a year in the next 5 years.

The offer general needs homes, and in addition a wide range of housing, including key worker, shared ownership and specialist accommodation including a women's refuge, housing for people with learning and physical disabilities, and a hostel for ex-offenders.

As part of their strategic growth plans, they are now looking for a maintenance surveyor to work within their Property team, work across their portfolio within the Kent and Sussex region. You will form part of a busy business, that allows flexible working that not only incorporates working from home but flexible working hours.

Your new role
As part of the role as maintenance surveyor, you will be tasked with the following; carry out general surveying duties including inspections of occupied and void properties. Undertake fault diagnosis and take appropriate action(s), including from time to time working in difficult and/or unpleasant environments. Draw up specifications of work and instruct contractors. Maintain effective management of compliance risk, by ensuring essential KPIs are met and take appropriate action where necessary. This relates to all areas of building safety and compliance, i.e. fire, gas, electricity, asbestos, water hygiene. Deal with legal disrepair and or Fitness for Human Habituation claims from beginning to end and covering all aspects of the claim, including attending Court if required. Work with residents to resolve the underlying causes of damp, mould, and condensation - providing education, support and training and 'selling' the approach. Provide technical direction and support to a range of internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, staff, residents, external agencies. Ensure that all works are within budget and completed within agreed timescales

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role you will need to have a recognised qualification such as BTEC in Building construction, or relevant experience in building maintenance, strong customer service skills, good planning and organising skills, experience working within a housing association or RSL and a valid driving licence with a car you're happy to use for business.

What you'll get in return
