Your new company
A global, billion pound turnover corporation with Head offices based in Cheshire are looking for a Sustainability Advisor to join their team. This specialist manufacturer are a global power house within their sector, and have featured in the headlines for their a variety of major acquisitions that put them at the top of their field. Despite the sheer size of this global business, their Cheshire based team are close knit, with average staff tenure in excess of 10 years. Your new role
In your new role as Sustainability Advisor, you will work within the Corporate SHE department, reporting to the Group Sustainability Manager, based in Cheshire. This varied role takes responsibility in supporting the development, implementation and management of the company's long-term sustainability strategy and ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) work programs. You will assist with internal and external communication and promotion of the sustainability strategy and progress, including the Management of the sustainability website, internal training presentations and external presentations to customers and co-ordination of the Sustainability network. You will manage and coordinate the production of the annual Responsible Business Report (including data collation, design and launch). You will collocate, analyse and present group SHE performance data (environmental, safety, health, supply chain, community, charity) to establish progress against annual objectives and targets. This role will see you getting involved in supporting manufacturing facilities to help achieve resource reduction & health and well being targets, including the sharing of best practice. You will take a lead on the companies charitable giving, volunteering days and other community engagement activities, and will provide support to implement a sustainable palm oil strategy. You will also play a key role in the provision of supply chain support from a sustainability viewpoint. You will support completion of corporate industry benchmarks and audits including CDP, SDG's, GRI & AA1000; and support businesses through the co-ordination and completion of Sustainability questionnaires.


What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you have worked within a sustainability role before however candidates from a H&S or environmental background will also be considered for this role. Ideally you will hold a degree in environmental management, geography, sustainability or other relevant discipline. You have a good understanding of Microsoft excel and power point. This role is suited to a self- starter with strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and organisational skills. You are comfortable dealing with internal and external personnel at all levels from CEO to apprentice. You have experience or a keen personal interest in sustainability and ESG issues.
