Head of Procurement | £75,000 to £100,000 | Renewable Energy
Your new company
General Fusion is transforming how the world is energised by developing the first commercially-viable fusion power plant. Fusion will deliver clean, safe and on-demand power at industrial scale, providing a powerful complement to renewables and a pathway to a zero-emission grid
Your new role
The role will focus on the development of professional standards in all aspects of sourcing strategy, supplier development, commercial and contractual negotiation, contracts management and the management of the Procurement team.
Key Accountabilities
- Develops the framework and process workflows for procurement activities:
- Materials and Equipment Management
- Contracts Management
- Prepare and maintain package registry, package dictionary, list of long lead items,
specific procedures and forms required for project procurement execution
- Evaluate and select systems and reporting tools required for project procurement execution
- Ensure a high standard of business ethics in dealing with all bidders/suppliers/contractors
- Prepare a responsibility matrix to formalise agreement on the delineation of roles and responsibilities for the procurement operations on the project
- Implement the pre qualification process to ensure that selected bidders comply with safety, schedule, technical, commercial, and quality requirements
What you'll need to succeed
- 10-15 years of experience
- Background in purchasing, contract management and logistics
- Familiar with local industry and Government supply chain process
- Strong negotiation and relationship building skills
- Familiar with the engineering process for custom made, large components
- Knowledge of industrial power plant systems an asset
- Familiar with vetting and using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Systems
- Familiar with NEC4 construction
