Capital Projects Manager

Bradfield College is seeking to recruit a Project Manager to support the Capital Programme Manager in delivering the College’s Campus Development Framework.

Bradfield College is an independent, co-educational boarding school for pupils aged 13 to 18 years old. With a pupil roll of 800+, the College is synonymous with offering a broad, all-round education and extremely high standards of pastoral care.

Set in 250 acres of pristine Berkshire countryside, Bradfield boasts some truly impressive sports facilities, including a double sized sports hall, a 25 metre indoor pool, two floodlit astroturf hockey pitches, a superb 9-hole golf course, a tennis centre with three indoor courts and 6 outdoor clay courts, 10 football pitches and one of the most picturesque cricket grounds in the South of England. The diverse estate also encompasses 12 boarding houses, the Blackburn Science Centre, art studios and its very own 1,000 seater, outdoor Greek theatre.

We are investing heavily in developing a high-quality, inspiring campus environment.  In 2021 we invested circa £6.5m in four key projects.  The Project Manager will lead, manage and coordinate a range of estate development projects from inception to completion.  The postholder will gain broad experience, with projects spanning new-build, refurbishment, fit-out and maintenance, with individual projects typically ranging from £100k to £8m in value.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable project management or building surveying experience, having taken responsibility for managing projects in the £100k to £2m value range.  You will have strong commercial and technical skills, with experience of contract procurement and management. Experience of working on refurbishment projects in a live, operational environment is critical, as is the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholder groups.

Experience of working in the education sector is not essential, however we are seeking candidates that demonstrate an understanding and enthusiasm for the positive impact that buildings and estates can have on creating an inspiring education environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to develop their career in a client-side project management role on a diverse range of projects across an impressive estate portfolio.
