UCL is seeking to appoint to recruit a Project Manager within its Estate Development team to play a key role in the delivery of a £1.8bn capital investment programme.

The scale, variety and complexity of the estate is unparalleled within the sector.  To support the delivery of UCL’s 20-year strategy, UCL2034, are delivering a £1.8bn capital investment programme to develop a truly inspiring estate for our students, staff, visitors and partners.  This includes the development of UCL East, our new campus at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which will offer world class research, teaching and living accommodation within the largest cultural and educational development in Europe.

The Project Manager will lead the delivery of a range of adaptation and refurbishment building projects and support on new-build projects across an incredibly diverse estate portfolio including academic and research facilities, commercial space, and student accommodation.  Responsible for providing a high level technical advisory service to UCL stakeholders, you will play a key part in the successful delivery the estate development programme personally being responsible for projects from £0.1m to £5m in value but also with the opportunity to support Senior Project Managers and Assistant Directors on major projects up to and in excess of £20m in value.

The successful candidate will possess experience of developing, procuring and managing projects from inception to completion in a project leadership role, and will be seeking to progress their career in a lead project management role.  You will have a track record of working effectively either in or with a large scale, complex organisation on projects and buildings of a technically complex nature.  You will also possess strong commercial skills, with proven experience of contract management.

With a strong customer focus essential, it is vital that the Project Manager will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills coupled with the ability to work in a collaborative manner with a multitude of stakeholder groups.  We are seeking an individual that is adaptable, enthusiastic and resilient.
