Development Manager, Parks & Open Space, Derbyshire

A reputable Local Authority in rural Derbyshire are looking to appoint a Development Manager (Open Spaces) on an interim basis starting immediately. The organisation promote a life/work blend which can be flexible for each person - a full time role, 37 hours per week with the potential to go permanent further down the line.

Your new role
The role will see you make a direct impact on quality of life in the area and will require you to develop and improve the Council's parks and open spaces including allotments, cemeteries, outdoor sports/ games facilities, community facilities and nature sites. Close collaboration will be needed with both the Council's Operational and Planning Services. With regard to planning, you will need to advise and comment on the landscape design elements of planning applications and support Section 106 and adoption processes.

What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrable experience in:
- Planning and development matters relating to design, S106, adoptions etc.
- Managing and maintaining a parks and open spaces or similar service preferably in a client
role.
- Developing and implementing strategies.

This is a role that requires a landscape architecture qualification, leadership and partnership working skills, good communication, an ability to think, plan and deliver strategically, manage a demanding workload and display a commitment to high standards, change management and meeting deadlines.
