Hays are working with an established contractor in the Nottinghamshire area as they continue in a period of growth. The organisation operate in both the public and private sectors across multiple projects such as Education, Healthcare, Student Accommodation, Commercial offices, Hotels, Retail and MOD works.The organisation are currently going through an unprecedented level of growth and are now seeking a Contracts Manager to join their operational team on a permanent basis working on Education sector projects up to the value of £20m.
Your new role
Reporting into the Construction Director you will be responsible for managing the projects from inception to completion.You will be involved with managing design teams, client teams, consultants, operational staff and sub contractors across a range of works.You will be able to produce a comprehensive programme to effectively manage live projects. You will also monitor progress on a weekly basis to ensure works are running to schedule. Additionally you will take lead in the resolution of any cost, design or methodology issues to ensure any problems are dealt with in a time efficient manner. You will have a strong record within Health and safety and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Due to location of works you will be required to travel to sites across the UK.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a strong permanent history of working in a Contracts Manager position for main contractors on design and build projects. You will have worked on large scale projects and demonstrate excellent leadership skills. You will hold a full UK driving license and ideally a Degree of HND in Construction Management. You will also hold a CSCS, SMSTS and Health & Safety certificate. You will have a tier 1 or tier 2 main contracting background and be in commutable distance to Nottinghamshire. The role will require site visits 1/2 times a month.
