Housing maintenance and repairs damp and condensation building defects
Your new company
This public sector organisation is now looking to recruit a Repairs and Maintenance Surveyor on a long term contractual basis. The job is in the housing team and due to additional workload they are now looking to expand the already established team.
Based in South London the organisation owns and maintains large housing stocks in and around the local area. These range from single dwellings to large housing estates.
Due to the nature of the job you will be required to travel in the locality to carry out inspections, however all paperwork/admin can be carried out from home or the organisation's offices. Flexible working is promoted within the organisation.
Your new role
As the successful surveyor you will carry out pre and post inspections to identify and manage repairs and maintenance issues in the organisations housing assets. This will involve liaising with residents and tenants in their properties and in the large housing estates. You will be required to follow up on works carried out and to ensure high levels of quality are maintained. You will also manage the contractors to ensure KPI's are met and that the agreed standards of work are adhered too.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have experience of maintenance and repairs within the housing market. It is essential that you have experience of identifying building defects, damp and condensation issues, minor structural defects amongst other related issues within housing repairs.
An understanding of disrepair will also be highly desirable.
A building related degree or qualification will be desirable however this is not an essential requirement if you can demonstrate experience in all of the above.
You will need to have a full UK driver's license as some parts of the geographical area do not have extensive public transport links.
