Overhead Crane Maintenance Engineer needed for work in Devon and Cornwall.

Your new company
I am currently seeking a lifting engineer for a leading engineering organisation that provides survival and safety services across many industries. The main focus of the role is undertaking the planned preventative maintenance & reactive maintenance of customers' gantry cranes, along with the associated lifting and testing practices.


Your new role
Working across Devon and Cornwall, you will be:

  • Attending appointments to carry out planned preventative maintenance of customer's gantry cranes.
  • Reacting to customer breakdowns.
  • Proof load testing, visual examination, service and inspection of cranes and general lifting equipment.
  • Completing fault diagnosis and liaising directly with the customer to achieve cost effective methods of service and repair
  • Completing service & repair reports
  • Ensuring customer requirements are met and that all work is conducted in accordance with company procedures and instructions.
  • Achieving competency level as defined in LEEA registration scheme.
  • Responsible for ensuring allocated tasks are conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures.


What you'll need to succeed
I'd really like to hear from you if you can offer the following:

  • NVQ 3 or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience in working with and servicing cranes (essential)
  • Have experience in mechanical & electrical maintenance and fault finding.
  • Be familiar with test and examination techniques for general lifting equipment to LEEA standards
  • IPAF and LEEA qualifications are desirable but not essential, training can be provided
  • A UK drivers license
  • Willing to travel
  • A professional and positive attitude when dealing with clients
  • You may need to work at heights so must be comfortable with this

This is a vital role for my client and in return for your experience and effort they are willing to pay a highly competitive salary, provision of a fully expensed company vehicle, full travel time paid on when travelling over an hour outside of normal working hours, paid accommodation where applicable and a £35 per night sustenance allowance, paid overtime which will be pro-rata based upon annual salary, and PPE and tools provided.
