Electrical Clerk of Works (18th Edition)

18th Edition Electrical Clerk of Works required for 6+ month contract in Glasgow

Your new company
Hays are currently working with a busy local authority on the outskirts of Glasgow who require an experienced Clerk of Works / Electrical Engineer (18th Edition) to undertake a programme of essential fire / smoke / co2 upgrades within their large housing stock. This will be a long term, temporary contract will run until at least January 2022, with the possibility to extend thereafter.

Your new role
Unlike many Clerk of Works contracts which are typically limited to 35 hours per week, this contract offers 40+ hours, with further opportunity for overtime. The project will involve visiting a number of sites / properties across the region on a daily basis to liaise / engage with contractors and residents whilst carrying out the inspections. It is therefore essential that you hold a full UK driving licence, and ideally have access to your own transport. (Mileage will be compensated).

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must be:

• Time served electrician with minimum 5 years' relevant experience
• Certified by a recognised training body (NICEIC, SELECT, IET, City & Guilds) in the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671:2018)
• Hold a full UK driving licence
• MICWCI is preferred, but is not essential

What you'll get in return
This is a long term contract offering stability and an opportunity to boost your earnings by working overtime. The rate for this position is negotiable, but will be in the region of £18-25ph dependent upon your experience and preferred payment type (subject to IR35).
