Your new company
We're pleased to be supporting a local authority client in recruiting for a full-time technical officer in their home improvement team. You'll be working alongside a number of fellow technical offices and other professionals. the successful candidate will be joining a friendly, passionate and sector leading team focused on helping the residents of the area to remain living independently in their own homes.
Your new role
As the Technical Officer you will be helping to deliver the package of grants and assistance provided by the council you will be surveying, assessing, designing and specifying adaption works or home repairs and improvements. You will prepare schedules of work, tender documents, technical plans and be responsible for ensuring compliance with the CDM regs.
The Technical Officer will be responsible for ensuring that construction, adaptation, renovation and demolition schemes comply with all relevant planning and environmental legislation, building regulations, party wall procedures and the requirements of public utility companies. You'll be sourcing suitable contractors to deliver the works and then overseeing their progress through to completion. This is a role that offers lots of variety and job satisfaction
What you'll need to succeed
As a Technical Officer you will ideally have experience of adaptations or being in a similar role is desirable but this could also be the perfect opportunity for a career change from the construction industry for someone with a background in building surveying, contract management, quantity surveying or similar.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary of up to £36,000 pa as well as a 37-hour flexible working week, generous holiday entitlement and access to the local government pension scheme.
