Your new company
Based in North London this public-sector organisation is currently looking to recruit a Project Manager / Building Surveyor to join their Capital Works team to help deliver maintenance and refurbishment projects for all their corporate properties. They manage works in ranging from £20k to £250k and due to an increase in live projects are now looking to expand the team. The organisation's offices are based in a very commutable location with excellent transport links for both buses and trains. A local shopping centre a short walk from the office and a wealth of restaurants specialising in foods from all over the world, making this a very vibrant place to work.

Your new role
As the successful candidate you will manage a variety of corporate and commercial buildings which now require general maintenance and modernisation works. You will carry out site inspections, identify building and maintenance issues and then manage the maintenance projects in partnership with the appointed contractors.
The organisation manages a variety of buildings so the projects in some cases are quite unique and some are listed, so do pose certain challenges where your problem-solving skills will be required as well as some creative thinking.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful candidate it is essential that you are a qualified building surveyor who has an excellent understanding of building maintenance within the corporate or commercial building environment. You will need to demonstrate your knowledge of identifying building defects and your ability to provide suitable solutions and fixes.
You will also need to have experience of dealing with both internal and external stakeholders and be able to manage contractors. Experience of working in a public sector environment will be useful but not essential for this job.
