Project Manager

The Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) is a pioneering educational trust, with 25 schools across the UK. The GDST Estates department is recruiting to expand the capital development team to work on innovative solutions for its educational projects. If you are considering a new career challenge and have experience in the design and delivery of estate development projects, we are looking for creative individuals to join us to play a vital part in delivering sustainable, exciting environments for our schools.

The GDST is the UK’s leading family of independent girls’ schools. We educate approximately 19,000 pupils across GDST schools and academies throughout England and Wales. With an annual turnover in excess of £200m, the GDST employs 3,500 staff across the schools and at the Trust Office based in Victoria, Central London.

The Project Manager will lead a portfolio of capital projects across the GDST schools, including new build, redevelopment and refurbishment projects typically from £100k to £5m in value, whilst gaining the chance to support on the delivery of major projects up to and in excess of £20m.  As a client-side project manager, you will work with schools on masterplanning, feasibility and option appraisals before going on to lead the delivery and realisation of projects.

Potential candidates may already be operating in a client-side role, or may be in architecture practice, building surveying, engineering or project management consultancy and seeking to move into a client-side role on a compelling capital programme and estate portfolio.

Experience of working across a broad range of property and project types would be advantageous, as in this role you will get the chance to work across a diverse portfolio of projects and buildings, from state of the art new facilities to listed and historic buildings, supporting activities spanning science, sport, the arts, and recreation.

The GDST offers a range of excellent benefits including generous pension and annual leave entitlements, significant fee remission, a range of health, wellbeing, professional development and financial benefits together with a flexible, progressive and inspiring working environment.

For more information, including the Candidate Brochure, please contact our retained advisors Ben Duffill (ben.duffill@mrgpeople.co.uk) or Nick Coppard (nicholas.coppard@mrgpeople.co.uk) at The Management Recruitment Group on 0203 962 9900.

Closing date for applications is Sunday 18th July 2021.

The GDST is committed to diversity, inclusion and real change: a family where every individual is valued, respected and included.

We are committed to the safeguarding of children and child protection screening will apply to this post.
