Contracts Manager (Construction Industry)

Contracts Manager role available with leading specialist contractor based in S Wales

Your new company
I'm currently working closely with a building contractor specialising in the provision of construction services for the service station industry. The company offers new build and refurbishment services for retail forecourts, , public sector projects, and more recently electrical vehicle charging installations, with projects ranging from £20,000 to £1m in value. Many of these are bespoke projects, requiring a high degree of planning, project management and commissioning prior to client handover.

Established over 30 years ago, the company recognises that its success is built on a happy, capable and committed workforce and as a result of its strategy of employee development and support, many of its staff have worked for the firm for over 10 years.

Your new role
Based from their offices in South Wales (with travel to sites once or twice per week), you will be responsible for managing all site-based activities, ensuring that contracts are delivered on time, to the required standards within budget, whilst maximising client satisfaction. You will be liaising closely with clients and your site teams to ensure that your projects run smoothly with minimal disruption, whilst identifying any variations to contract that may present themselves during the build process. You should also need to ensure that your jobs are run in line with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements and expectations.

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you will have previous experience in the service station construction field and be contractually astute enough to recognise and flag potential variations. You'll also need to be highly articulate and presentable, with the ability to convey complex information effectively. As Contracts Manager, you'll also need to recognise that you set the tone for presentation, communication, reliability and punctuality on those projects under your control.
