Capital Works Project Manager

Project Manager managing mixed capital construction projects on the client side.

Your new company

You will be working for a large complex public sector estate with a number of large sites.

Your new role

You will be a key member of the Capital Works projects team, reporting into the Head of Capital Works.

Your role will be to work as a specialist professional as part of the Estates Capital team.
To provide expert specialist and professional construction and estates projects advice to other Estates staff, Directors, Senior Management, Boards and external agencies.
To independently manage a portfolio of complicated delegated projects from £10K to £50M from inception to completion, including project management, design, contract administration, site supervision and commissioning under the Capital Programme.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to have strong project management skills and have experience managing large construction projects either for an end user - such as the public sector - eg Hospitals, universities, commercial buildings for local authorities, or end user side in the private sector such as JLR etc. The other background could be construction consultancy background or construction contracting, but ideally with some client side experience.

The ideal background building background as opposed to M&E or civils or Architecture, but could be considered if there is a whole project lifecycle experience as well, as the role is to manage all elements of the construction process.

What you'll get in return

On offer is a 6 month temporary contract, the opportunity to work on exciting and large scale construction projects. After the initial 6 months, there could be an extension or a permanent contract. So this is a long term role.
