Estates Manager

The Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) is the UK’s leading family of independent girls’ schools. We educate approximately 19,000 pupils across 23 GDST schools and 2 academies throughout England and Wales. With an annual turnover in excess of £200m, the GDST employs 3,500 staff across the schools and at the Trust Office based in Victoria, Central London.

The Estates Team acts on behalf of the Trust to manage all property related matters to ensure the Trust’s interests and its Estate are developed and maintained to agreed standards.  As part of our continued investment into providing the best possible estate provision to our schools, we are seeking to appoint three Estates Managers to strengthen the team.

Reporting to the Head of Estate Management, the Estates Managers will play a leading role in the provision of high-quality, customer-focused estate management provision across the GDST portfolio.  Working across a designated portfolio of schools, the Estates Managers will act as the estate business partner and trusted advisor to each of the schools within their portfolio whilst leading on the planning and delivery of estate investment programmes including refurbishment, long-term maintenance and compliance projects.

We are seeking an individual with significant experience of leading refurbishment and strategic maintenance programmes across a diverse multi-site estate portfolio.   You will have a highly customer-focused mindset, with high levels of enthusiasm and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience of working across a broad range of property types would be advantageous, as in this role you will get the chance to work across a diverse portfolio of buildings, from state of the art new facilities to listed and historic buildings, supporting activities spanning student experience, teaching, sport, the arts, recreation and events.

The GDST offers a range of excellent benefits including generous pension and annual leave entitlements, significant fee remission, a range of health, wellbeing, professional development and financial benefits together with a flexible, progressive and inspiring working environment.
