Permanent Senior Design Manager job - Birmingham / East Midlands - Projects up to £50m - Competitive Salary

An exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Design Manager for national Main Contractor. Due to significant success in securing projects the company are now looking to boost their Pre- Construction / Project delivery team. The role will allow the successful candidate to work on major projects across multiple sectors including MOD, MOJ, Commercial, Residential Healthcare and High rise. The role could be based out of either the Birmingham office or Derbyshire office and will offer flexible working.

Your new role
You will be working as part of a significant pre construction and design team managing a large portfolio of work. You will produce agree and manage, with all relevant parties, a realistic design programme and information required schedule to satisfy design, procurement and construction requirements. You will also manage the design on site with where appropriate the assistance of other site based resource implementing the design management procedures to ensure the timely production of information. The role will ensure that all design deliverables are reviewed to establish they are within budget, are fully coordinated and are buildable. You will be competent in reviewing the design with respect to mitigating Health and Safety issues prior to construction. In addition you will provide guidance to the project team on design related issues.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have excellent Senior Design Management experience, gained from being involved in projects in excess of £50M for main contractors. The role requires extensive experience in Preconstruction alongside a proven track record of work wining and bid conversion. You will be familiar with multiple procurement routes and frameworks, extensive Single Stage D&B experience would be an advantage. You will have a good understanding of Offsite Construction methods and how to integrate them into the design. The position requires the successful candidate to have excellent working knowledge of BIM.
