Leading Public Sector body requires transportation expert to assist them drive sustainable transport policy


Your new company
Our client are a leading Edinburgh based public sector body who have an exciting program of works to complete over the next 5 years. As the transportation landscape evolves they are currently seeking a candidate to assist them in driving their new transportation strategy. Our client are based in a stunning urban/rural environment which can offer the successful candidate a fantastic living environment along with the opportunity to work in a very flexibly or remote fashion.

Your new role
The overall goal of this role is to take a lead role in our clients strategy to achieve ambitious levels of sustainable transport use in their area. This will involve shaping the existing strategy as well ensuring that it is implemented effectively through positive interventions with all relevant stakeholders from the public to transport authorities. These interventions could be through effective public engagement aswell as shaping the council's transportation management plan and future project development. This role will require a candidate who understands how to engage with and motivate different stakeholders through effective communication techniques.


What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have a diverse range of skillsets. You will have a deep understanding of transport strategy and planning backed up by a relevant tertiary degree in this space. You will also have demonstrated experience of working on projects or schemes which have motivated change within the public sector environment. Of course you will have exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
