Your new company
We're pleased to be supporting a Housing Provider in Norfolk to recruit for a Building Surveyor and an Asbestos Surveyor on a permanent basis.
Your new role
As a Building Surveyor you'll be joining a small team of Surveyors that deliver a range capital projects including; major capital works, new build projects, planned and cyclical maintenance as well as larger responsive maintenance works. You'll be undertaking a range of inspections on social housing properties looking at a range of issues including; damp, subsidence, structural issues and dilapidation's. You'll be producing specifications and costs for repair works, appraising various options, tendering works and managing subcontractors and their delivery of these repair works. For the Asbestos role you'll be carrying out demolition surveys as well as taking samples and updating risk registers.
What you'll need to succeed
As a Building Surveyor you'll be educated to HNC level or equivalent in a surveying or construction related discipline. Ideally you'll be a member of the RICS or CIOB though this isn't essential. You'll have a strong technical knowledge of relevant building and health & safety legislation, experience of working in social housing will be highly beneficial. You'll also be a confident communicator, able to produce written reports, recommendations and costings.
For the Asbestos Surveyor role you'll have P402 (P403 / P404 desirable), ideally 6 months experience of working in a UKAS accredited environment and knowledge of the Fire Safety Bill.
What you'll get in return
You'll receive a salary of up to £35,000 per annum, your contracted hours will be 37 per week, 25 days holiday+ bank holidays, a laptop and mobile, a range of other flexible benefits like retail discounts etc and an excellent pension scheme where the company will contribute up to 12%.
