Graduate Electrical Design Engineer (design of electrical systems in buildings) | London, £25 - £30k

The below opportunity is based within the building services design engineering industry. This consultancy business designs the electrical and lighting systems within buildings, including offices, residential blocks, and mixed-use spaces. This respected building services and sustainability consultancy has seen consistent growth in recent years, thanks to repeat clients, quality project delivery, and a team of enthusiastic and driven people. Their culture is relaxed, creative, and quality focused, with a new flexible office space to support agile working. Projects are varied and often contain unusual or challenging elements. Projects include residential blocks and major masterplans, workplace refurbishment, and major mixed-use developments, labs and pharma facilities. Now with a team of 45 engineers and consultants, they have identified significant growth opportunities in their MEP design team. Starting with the growth of their electrical team, with two graduate opportunities.

Your new role

As a graduate engineer your daily tasks will vary, as you will be exposed to all aspects of their projects so you can identify which areas are particularly suited. Your roles could include producing detailed designing the electrical lighting systems within buildings, sizing cables, lighting analysis and equipment specification. Utilising latest modelling software, including Amtech or MEP Revit. You can also expect to undertake MEP site surveys, getting to grips and understanding projects face-to-face. You'll also liaise with your mechanical counterparts as well as the inhouse sustainability team.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have an electrical engineering qualification, Degree, HND or Masters. You will also hold a keen interest in building services engineering, ideally already having some experience through work experience within the building services space. You mat have working experience from summer placements or work placements, but this is not required.
