Civils Estimator for permanent Sussex job vacancy


Your new company
Established in the Sussex area for over 50 years, they undertake specialist Civil Engineering and ground working contracts throughout the Sussex area. They work in partnership with a number of prestigious clients and have built a reputation for quality in a highly specialist area. For this project pipeline is very strong and a new Civils Estimator is required . You will be an experienced in Civil Estimating as you will be taking full responsibility of the estimating of the tender function from the start. You will be joining a respected and experienced team who offer a welcoming and supportive environment. You will be rewarded with a competitive salary depending on your experience, along with a travel/car allowance and fuel expense entitlement. Career progression is achievable and will be clearly structured according to defined KPI's with company directors.

The company specialise in civils and ground works contracts including coastal, fluvial, water projects for a exciting and prestigious range of clients including the Environment Agency; English Heritage; Local Councils; MOD; DEFRA; Ports & Harbours; RNLI; CMDP, and they are part of various water industry frameworks

Your new role
Responsibilities include:

  • Receiving tenders and preparing submissions
  • Understanding the clients requirements, and producing solutions that work to meet their requirements
  • Contributing innovative ideas to assist with the tender submission
  • Working with the design team identifying temporary works and other design requirements
  • Overseeing and leading the tender review process
  • Taking off quantities
  • Working with sub-contractors
  • Evaluating the associated risks of projects


What you'll need to succeed
You will have 3+ years Estimating experience as you will be taking full responsibility of the estimating of the tender function from the start. IT competent Excellent communicator HNC in Civil Engineering / NVQ Level 6 Construction - or equivalent would be desirable (but not essential)
