Estate Officer/ Public Sector/ Building Surveyor/ Aberdeen/ Vacancy

Hays are currently working with a reputable client-side/ public sector organisation to assist them in recruiting an Estates Officer in Aberdeen. You will be responsible for dealing daily with all planned and reactive tasks, carrying out condition surveys, specification of works and post inspecting completed works, passing invoices for payment and maintaining the service register. Our client is committed to supporting all members of staff and are happy to provide training if need be.

What you'll need to succeed
As a minimum applicants must be educated to HND in a building surveying or construction related discipline. Alternatively membership of the Institute of Clerk of Works or Institute of Maintenance and Building Management would also be acceptable. You will also require a full UK driving license as travel to properties is essential. You will also have excellent communication skills and able to build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll get in return

The Post is Permanent/full-time based on a 37 hour working week and the salary is £26,350. The successful candidate will be eligible to join the pension scheme which operates on a Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) basis and has a personal contribution for members of 5% of pensionable earnings. Annual leave, excluding Public Holidays, is 25 days per year, rising to 30 days after 5 years' service; previous public sector employment may count towards qualifying years' service. Applicants must have a clean driving licence and should live within reasonable commuting distance of the Aberdeen office. A significant amount of travel is involved therefore candidates must be prepared to travel and spend nights away from home, for which reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. An Association vehicle is provided.
