Carbon Manager - Europe, for a large global business working to reduce Co2 emissions

Your new company

You will be working for a global building aggregates organisation, who have a turnover in excess of 15 billion dollars. The have offices and sites across the world and employ over 40,000 people.
They are number one in their market and pride themselves on their being a safe business that looks after it's people and the natural resources.

Your new role

You will be working for the Head of Carbon and will take responsibility for the EU ETS reporting and compliance elements for 12 plants over their European countries.

You will be co-ordinating the reporting and compliance elements of EUETS and other regional carbon related legislative schemes to develop related best practices and cost savings.

This to include leading and co-ordinating the CO2 accuracy of reporting project group that aims to improve carbon measurement and reporting best practices across the region.

To develop an in-depth knowledge of regional Carbon related legislation (primarily EUETS), inclusive of additional requirements at a member state level, its impacts, and the opportunities it may present.

Whilst the role will require the aiding in and promotion of performance enhancing initiatives, there will also be additional requirements for performance reporting in related areas, involving an essential working interface with colleagues from Sustainability, Operational and Technical functional areas.

The carbon impact and mitigation space is evolving quickly, the position will have an important role to play in its development which will stretch beyond CO2 reporting and compliance to include areas such as: Environmental Product Declarations (EPD's), Life Cycle Assessments (LCA's), product carbon foot printing and maintaining an up to date knowledge of Carbon Standards.

What you'll need to succeed

You will ideally have a background in energy , sustainability or environmental management. Ideally degree educated in a technical discipline.

Strong knowledge of the EU ETS / EU Emissions Trading Scheme

Ideally worked in in industries that are high carbon emitter's including but not limited to aggregates, chemicals, steel, ceramics, coal, cement , power plants. Etc.

Ability to also run some projects around best practice across region, carbon reduction , decarbonisation of fuels, inputs and out puts measurements, off settings etc.

What you'll get in return
You will be fully responsible for the Europe sites . The role is either based in Warwickshire, or WFH with travel to Warwickshire a number of times per month. There are flexible working options available.
The package on offer is 49K + 5.4K car allowance, 8% bonus based on company and individual targets, pension, 25 days leave. And the access to a fully flexible benefits package.
