Site Manager (Main Contractor)

A highly valued customer to Hays, my client is a leading national contractor with a focus on client satisfaction to generate repeat business, innovative design and a flexible but professional culture designed to stimulate new ideas and free up decision making at a local level. As a result of securing a place on a number of key construction frameworks, they have a requirement for an experienced Site Manager to join their tight-knit operations team based on site in Devon and reporting in to their South West regional office. Projects are multimillion pound schemes in the healthcare, education and defence sectors.


Your new role

Reporting to an approachable and supportive Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for a multimillion pound commercial project, taking control of construction operations on site with key duties including programming and delivery of works, supervision and coordination of direct staff and subcontractors, managing progress meetings and logging progress reports, raising potential issues to senior management, ensuring materials are available on site, setting and controlling quality standards, and overseeing all aspects of health and safety.


What you'll need to succeed

I'd really like to hear from you if you have experience successfully delivering similar projects in the educational, health or MOD sectors. Strong leadership by example, clear and effective communication and a desire to deliver, whatever the challenges that present themselves throughout the course of the build, are all pre-requisites.
