Well Established Edinburgh based builder seeks Plant Manager to join their team.

Our client are a well established Edinburgh based building contractor who have endured COVID well and are looking optimistically to the future. Specialising in tradition building projects such as schools, public sector and heritage projects our client have a sustainable pipeline of work ahead of them and can offer their staff secure employment.


Your new role
This role is critical to the smooth and profitable running of the business. As plant manager you will be responsible for light maintenance on their fleet of vehicles along with maintenance and management of their extensive construction plant. This plant is everything from cement mixers to hand tools. You will also be responsible for ensuring plant hire services are used efficiently in line with business demands. Reporting to the directors of the business you will be at the centre of all of their projects and you can make a real difference to the overall efficiency of the business.


What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will be from a mechanical trade with experience of doing maintenance of light commercial vehicles. You will also be comfortable in looking after a wide array of construction plant and enjoy problem solving and maintenance of this equipment. As plant manager you will also be responsible in managing the inventory ensuring it is being using efficiently and managing effectively external hire requirements. The ideal candidate will be computer literate and open to utilising software to manage this busy department effectively. You will also have an understanding of cost management and enjoy running an efficient department.
