Building Services Manager - Nottingham (Estates & Facilities) Competitive Salary 21% Pension + 44 days holiday

Your new company
A Nottingham based Education Establishment are looking to appoint a Building Services Manager to join their Estates and Facilities team.

They are looking for someone to lead and manage the resources of the Estate & Facilities Building Services section to ensure that the buildings, properties and infrastructure services are maintained in order that staff and students can work in a safe and appropriate environment. To provide technical and general management of a small specialist team of building surveyors and the use of external resources where appropriate to ensure that the buildings and infrastructure maintained are available as necessary.



Your new role
You will provide technical advice on design, specification and tender documentation managing multiple building and infrastructure projects to set timescales and within allocated budgets. You will also oversee both planned and reactive maintenance across all properties, ensuring compliance to current legislation, codes of practice and procedures. You will lead on and manage condition surveys, collecting and analysing data producing reports to senior Estates & Facilities managers as required.

The successful candidate will lead on any recruitment required for the team ensuring staff are appropriately trained and will be responsible for carrying out development conversations and appraisals, monitoring performance and inspiring a "can do culture" within the section. You will also liaise with key stakeholders and customers and will ensure service level agreements and key performance indicators are achieved with regards to customer satisfaction constantly developing the team to improve service delivery.




What you'll need to succeed

  • At least 3-5 years experience in a similar role within an estates team
  • Excellent technical expertise
  • Good knowledge of building / construction contracts
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of compliance / regulations
  • Familiar with tender processes, design, procurement
  • Client / Customer facing
  • Able to manage staff, stakeholders, external sub contractors etc.
